You Have Nothing to Prove

Devotional

Right before Jesus was led into the wilderness, God spoke over Him from heaven. He said, “This is my Son, whom I love. With Him I am well pleased.” And then, almost immediately, Satan showed up and said, “If you are the Son of God…” Did you catch that? God said who Jesus was. And the enemy immediately tried to make Him question it.

He does the same thing to us. The moment you step out in faith, start serving, or feel God calling you to something, a voice begins to whisper. You are not good enough. You are too broken. Who do you think you are? But here is the truth: your identity is not up for debate. God has already spoken. If He calls you His child, then that is exactly what you are. No temptation, no failure, no past mistake gets to overrule what God has declared over your life.

You do not need to prove yourself to the enemy. You do not need to prove yourself to the world. You simply need to know what God says about you and hold onto it. When doubt creeps in, go back to the Word. Let it remind you of who you are. Because God’s voice is louder than any lie, and He always has the final say.

Bible Verse

And a voice from heaven said, “This is my Son, whom I love; with him I am well pleased.” – Matthew 3:17

Reflection Question

What is one lie about your identity that you have been believing, and what does God’s Word say in response to it?

Quote

Temptation doesn’t determine your identity. God’s word does. And he has the final say. -Pastor Jen

Prayer

Father, remind me today of who You say I am. When the enemy whispers doubt, help me to stand firm in the identity You have already given me. Amen.
