Devotional
Every temptation carries the same quiet lie underneath it: do not tell anyone. Keep it hidden. Handle it yourself. And so we carry things alone, convinced that silence is strength. But silence is often where temptation grows the strongest. What stays in the dark tends to stay in control.
Jesus faced the wilderness alone, but He was never without the Father. And when He came out, He did not stay isolated. He built a community around Him. He knew that life was not meant to be lived in isolation, and neither is the battle against temptation. God always provides a way out, as promised in 1 Corinthians 10:13. Sometimes that way out is a person. A pastor. A trusted friend. Someone who will pray with you instead of judge you.
Bringing a struggle into the light is not weakness. It is one of the bravest things you can do. You have made it through five days of sitting with this topic. That matters. Now take the next step. Find your people. Build those relationships before the hard moments come, because when temptation hits, you need someone already in your corner. You were never meant to fight every battle alone. And the good news is, you do not have to.
Bible Verse
Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective. – James 5:16
Reflection Question
Who in your life could you trust enough to share a current struggle with, and what is holding you back from reaching out to them?
Quote
One of the enemy’s favorite lies is ‘don’t tell anyone.’ There is power in bringing things into the light. Find someone trustworthy. A pastor, a mature Christian, a godly friend, someone who will pray with you instead of judging you. You don’t have to fight every battle alone. -Pastor Jen
Prayer
Father, give me the courage to stop hiding and start asking for help. Lead me to the right people who will walk with me and point me back to You. Amen.
