No Condemnation

Devotional

One of the heaviest things a person can carry is the feeling that they have gone too far. That the mistakes are too many, the failures too big, or the time away too long. That voice that says, do not even bother coming back, is not from God. There is a real difference between condemnation and conviction. Condemnation shuts the door and tells you that you are too far gone. Conviction, which comes from the Holy Spirit, opens the door and says, come on, let us work through this together. One pushes you away. The other draws you home. Romans 8:1 is one of the most powerful verses in all of Scripture, and it does not come with a list of conditions or exceptions. It simply says that there is no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. Not for the person who has it all together. Not for the person who has never struggled. For anyone who is found in Him. Paul wrote those words knowing full well what he had done. He was not writing from a place of innocence. He was writing from a place of grace, and that grace is available to you right now, in whatever season you are in. You do not have to earn your way back. You do not have to clean yourself up first. The same grace that met Paul in his darkest season is reaching toward you today. You are not too far gone. You never were.

Bible Verse

“Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.” – Romans 8:1

Reflection Question

In what area of your life have you been listening to condemnation instead of allowing God’s conviction to lead you toward healing?

Quote

There is a difference between conviction and condemnation. Condemnation says, don’t bother coming back. Conviction says, come on, let’s fix this.

Prayer

Father, thank You that Your grace is bigger than my failures. Help me to hear Your voice today, the one that calls me home rather than the one that tells me to stay away. Amen.
