Devotional
Names carry weight and meaning. Think about your own name – perhaps you were named after a beloved family member, or your name has a special meaning that your parents chose carefully. In ancient times, names weren’t just labels; they embodied a person’s very character and essence. When God revealed His personal name to Moses, it was a profound moment of intimacy and revelation. He wasn’t just giving Moses a way to address Him – He was sharing His very nature and inviting relationship.

Bible Verse
“God said to Moses, ‘I AM WHO I AM.’ And he said, ‘Say this to the people of Israel: I AM has sent me to you.'” – Exodus 3:14

Reflection Question
How does knowing that God chose to reveal His personal name to humanity change your perspective on your relationship with Him?

Quote “It’s the first time in all of scripture that God reveals what his personal name is. My name is Yahweh. And here’s what I take away from that. First of all, he has a name. I serve a God who has a name. And because he has a name and has revealed his name, I can understand that he wants to have a personal relationship with me.”

Prayer
Heavenly Father, thank You for revealing Your name to us. Help me to understand the profound privilege of knowing You personally. May I never take this intimate relationship for granted. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
