Devotional
Many of us view work as a necessary evil or just a means to pay bills. But what if we’re missing something profound? Work isn’t just something we do – it’s something God designed us to do. When we understand that work is a divine appointment, it transforms our perspective from burden to purpose. God didn’t casually suggest work – He commanded it as part of our weekly rhythm, just as He commanded rest. This reveals how deeply He cares about this significant portion of our lives. He’s not just interested in our Sunday mornings; He’s invested in our Monday through Friday too.

Bible Verse

“Remember the Sabbath day by keeping it holy. Six days you shall labor and do all your work, but the seventh day is a sabbath to the Lord your God.” – Exodus 20:8-11

Reflection Question

How might your attitude toward work change if you viewed it as a divine appointment rather than just a job?

Quote “Six days you shall labor. He didn’t say if you choose to work. He didn’t say if you want to work. God said to Moses, here’s the expectation. Six days you shall labor.”

Prayer

Lord, help me see my work through Your eyes. Transform my perspective from seeing it as just a job to recognizing it as Your calling for my life. Grant me the wisdom to understand how my daily work fits into Your greater purpose. Amen.
