Devotional
In a culture that often reduces sexuality to mere physical pleasure, God’s design stands in stark contrast. He created sexual intimacy not just for reproduction or momentary enjoyment but as a powerful expression of covenant love within marriage. When experienced as God intended—within the safety and commitment of marriage—sexual intimacy creates a unique bond that reflects the deep, covenant relationship between Christ and His church. It’s about vulnerability, trust, and complete giving of oneself to another. Outside of marriage, sexual experiences may provide temporary pleasure but can never deliver the fullness of intimacy for which they were designed. They lack the security, commitment, and spiritual dimension that God intended. The apostle Paul understood the power of sexual intimacy, instructing married couples not to deprive one another except by mutual consent for a time of prayer. He recognized that sexual intimacy is not peripheral to marriage but central to it—a God-given gift that strengthens the marital bond and provides protection against temptation. Today, whether married or single, consider how you can honor God’s beautiful design for sexuality in your life and relationships.
Bible Verse
“Do not deprive each other except perhaps by mutual consent and for a time, so that you may devote yourselves to prayer. Then come together again so that Satan will not tempt you because of your lack of self-control.” – 1 Corinthians 7:5
Reflection Question

Quote Few things rival the beauty, the power of marital intimacy.
Prayer
Lord, thank You for creating sexuality as a beautiful gift. Help me to honor Your design in my thoughts, actions, and relationships. For those who are married, strengthen their intimate bond; for those who are single, provide the grace to live with purity and contentment. May we all reflect Your intentions for sexuality in a world that has distorted it. Amen.
