Devotional
We all experience moments when we can’t see what God is doing in our lives. This condition—spiritual blindness—affects everyone at different points in our journey. Sometimes we’re unable to perceive God’s work; other times, we’re simply unwilling to acknowledge it. Think about the times you’ve missed God’s hand at work. Perhaps you were going through a difficult season and couldn’t see His provision. Or maybe you were so focused on your own plans that you missed His divine redirection. The Pharisees in Jesus’ day witnessed incredible miracles yet remained blind to His identity as the Messiah. Spiritual blindness isn’t just about missing what’s happening—it’s about misinterpreting reality through distorted lenses. When our vision is clouded, we make decisions based on incomplete information, react to circumstances without divine perspective, and miss opportunities for growth and blessing. The good news is that God specializes in opening blind eyes. Throughout Scripture, from the Old Testament prophets to Jesus’ ministry, God consistently works to restore spiritual sight to His people. He wants us to see clearly—to recognize His presence, understand His purposes, and perceive His protection surrounding us. Today, consider where you might be experiencing spiritual blindness in your life. Are there situations where you’ve failed to recognize God’s hand? Areas where your perspective needs divine adjustment? The first step toward clearer vision is acknowledging our need for God to open our eyes.
Bible Verse
“To open their eyes, so that they may turn from darkness to light and from the power of Satan to God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins and a place among those who are sanctified by faith in me.” – Acts 26:18
