Devotional
There’s a profound difference between how things appear from our limited human perspective and how they actually are from God’s viewpoint. Elisha understood this when he confidently declared to his fearful servant, “Those who are with us are more than those who are with them.” From a human standpoint, this statement seemed absurd—two men against an entire army? But Elisha wasn’t counting what was visible to natural eyes. He was accounting for invisible realities that only faith could perceive. When God opened the servant’s eyes, the truth became clear: the mountains were full of horses and chariots of fire. This divine perspective doesn’t deny difficulties but places them in proper context. It acknowledges challenges while recognizing God’s superior power and provision. It sees beyond immediate circumstances to eternal realities. Gaining this perspective requires a deliberate shift in focus. Instead of fixating on problems, we must intentionally set our gaze on God’s character, promises, and past faithfulness. We must train ourselves to look not at what is seen but at what is unseen. When we view life through God’s eyes, everything changes. Obstacles become opportunities. Impossibilities become invitations to witness God’s power. Fears are replaced with faith. The same circumstances that once overwhelmed us now become platforms for experiencing God’s deliverance.

Bible Verse
“So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.” – 2 Corinthians 4:18

Reflection Question
How might your current challenges look different if viewed through the lens of God’s eternal perspective rather than your temporary human viewpoint?

Quote Don’t fix your eyes on your enemy. Fix your eyes on God. Set your eyes on the Eternal one. Set your eyes on the faithful one. Set your eyes on the one who said, I’ll never leave you and I’ll never forsake you.

Prayer
Lord, I confess that I often see only what’s visible to human eyes. Please elevate my perspective today. Help me to see my circumstances as You see them—with eternal significance and divine purpose. Open my spiritual eyes to recognize Your presence, Your power, and Your provision in every situation I face. In Jesus’ name, amen.
