Devotional
We live in a unique space in human history—between the perfection that was lost in Eden and the glory that awaits us in eternity. This in-between place can feel confusing and challenging because we experience both the beauty of God’s creation and the brokenness of a fallen world. Think about your own life. You’ve experienced moments of incredible joy, love, and peace that give you glimpses of what God intended. But you’ve also faced heartbreak, disappointment, and pain that remind you this world is not as it should be. Both experiences are real, and both are part of living between the garden and glory. Understanding our position helps us navigate life’s difficulties without becoming disillusioned. When hardships come, we don’t have to wonder if God has forgotten us or if we’ve done something wrong. Difficulties are part of the reality of living in a broken world while we await our perfect home. But here’s the hope: everything we experience here is temporary. The good seasons and the difficult ones will both pass. The pain you’re feeling today won’t last forever, and neither will the joy you’re experiencing. This perspective doesn’t minimize our current experiences—it puts them in their proper context. We’re not meant to find our ultimate satisfaction here because this isn’t our final destination. We’re pilgrims passing through, carrying the hope of glory while living faithfully in the present. Every day between the garden and glory is an opportunity to trust God more deeply and point others toward the eternal home we all long for.

Bible Verse

‘Do not let your hearts be troubled. You believe in God; believe also in me. My Father’s house has many rooms; if that were not so, would I have told you that I am going there to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am.’ – John 14:1-3

“We exist between the garden and the glory. “

Prayer

Lord, help me to live faithfully in this in-between space. When I’m overwhelmed by the brokenness around me, remind me that this isn’t my final home. When I’m tempted to find ultimate satisfaction here, point my heart toward the glory that awaits. Amen.
