Devotional
Yesterday we acknowledged that suffering is inevitable, but today we discover something revolutionary: the Gospel doesn’t eliminate our pain, but it transforms how we experience it. This isn’t about putting on a fake smile or pretending everything is fine when it’s not. It’s about finding genuine, deep-rooted reasons for hope even in our darkest moments. The Gospel tells us that through faith in Jesus, we are justified – completely forgiven and declared righteous before God. This isn’t just a nice theological concept; it’s the foundation that changes everything about how we face trials. When we truly grasp what Christ has done for us, it provides an unshakeable basis for joy that circumstances cannot touch. Think about it: if God loved you enough to send His Son to die for you when you were still His enemy, how much more will He care for you now that you’re His child? If He didn’t spare His own Son but gave Him up for you, won’t He also graciously give you everything you need to endure whatever you’re facing? The Gospel isn’t just good news for getting into heaven someday – it’s good news for getting through today. It reminds us that our worst day on earth cannot separate us from God’s love, and our greatest trial cannot diminish our eternal hope.

Bible Verse
“For I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God that brings salvation to everyone who believes: first to the Jew, then to the Gentile.” – Romans 1:16

Reflection Question
In what specific ways has the Gospel provided you with hope or strength during difficult times, and how can you lean into that truth more fully today?

Quote
“The gospel doesn’t get us out of suffering, but the gospel will keep us in our suffering. And the gospel will actually give us a basis of rejoicing in our suffering.”

Prayer
Lord Jesus, thank You for the Gospel that changes everything. Help me to be consumed by the truth of what You’ve done for me, and let that truth be my anchor when storms come. May Your love be my foundation when everything else feels uncertain. Amen.
