Devotional

Picture this: you’re going about your ordinary day when someone approaches you for help. You see their need, maybe even their limitations, but you completely miss who they really are. This is exactly what happened when the Samaritan woman met Jesus at Jacob’s well. She saw a thirsty Jewish man without a bucket, but she missed the miracle-worker, the Messiah, the source of living water Himself standing right in front of her. How often do we do the same thing? We see our circumstances, our limitations, our problems – but we miss seeing Jesus for who He truly is. We get so focused on the ‘why’ of our situation that we miss the ‘who’ that has come to meet us there. Jesus doesn’t need our resources or our solutions. He is the solution. When we truly recognize who is with us in every moment, everything changes. Our perspective shifts from scarcity to abundance, from fear to faith, from doubt to confidence.

Bible Verse

‘Jesus answered her, “If you knew the gift of God and who it is that asks you for a drink, you would have asked him and he would have given you living water.”‘ – John 4:10

Reflection Question

What current challenge in your life might change if you truly recognized that Jesus, the source of all provision, is standing with you in it?

Quote

If you knew who it was that was standing before you, you would ask him and he would have given you living water.

Prayer

Lord, open my eyes to see You clearly in every situation I face. Help me recognize that You are not limited by my circumstances or resources, but that You are the unlimited source of everything I need.
