Devotional
Life has a way of hardening us. Disappointments, betrayals, and unmet expectations can slowly turn our hearts into well-traveled paths – packed down and impenetrable. When our hearts become hard, even the most powerful truths from God’s Word bounce off like seeds hitting concrete. The enemy loves hard hearts because they’re spiritually unproductive. When God’s Word can’t penetrate, it becomes easy prey for doubt and discouragement to snatch away. But here’s the encouraging truth: no heart is too hard for God to soften. He specializes in breaking up the hardest ground. The key is maintaining a teachable spirit. This means staying humble enough to let God’s Word challenge you, even when it’s uncomfortable. It means refusing to let past hurts create permanent barriers to spiritual growth. When you feel your heart beginning to harden, that’s your signal to run toward God, not away from Him. Remember, a tender heart isn’t a weak heart – it’s a wise heart. It takes courage to stay open and vulnerable before God, but that’s where transformation happens. Don’t let life’s pressures rob you of the soft, receptive heart that God can use mightily.

Bible Verse
‘Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it.’ – Proverbs 4:23
Reflection Question
What life experiences have you allowed to harden your heart, and how can you invite God to soften those areas?

Quote
You can’t let your heart become hardened by life. Because what will happen is the hard heart will not receive the openness to the word of God.
Prayer
Father, break up any hard places in my heart. Keep me tender and teachable so Your Word can penetrate deeply into my life.
