Devotional

Those twelve stones from the Jordan River weren’t just for the Israelites who witnessed the miracle – they were for their children and grandchildren. God specifically instructed them to use these memorial stones to tell future generations about His faithfulness. The stones would prompt questions: ‘What do these stones mean?’ And parents would have the opportunity to share how God made the impossible possible. Your story of God’s faithfulness isn’t just for you – it’s for the generations that follow. The times God showed up when you thought all was lost, the ways He provided when resources ran out, the moments He gave you strength when you had none left – these aren’t just personal memories. They’re testimonies that can strengthen the faith of your children and grandchildren. But here’s the challenge: if you don’t share your story, it dies with you. Your family needs to hear how God has been faithful in your life. They need to know that the same God who carried you through difficult times will be faithful to them too. Don’t let your testimonies become buried treasures.

Bible Verse

‘In the future when your descendants ask their parents, “What do these stones mean?” tell them, “Israel crossed the Jordan on dry ground.”‘ – Joshua 4:21-22
