Devotional

When the disciples woke Jesus during the storm, they didn’t question His power – they questioned His care. “Don’t you care if we drown?” they asked. This reveals something profound about human nature in crisis. We often know God is capable of helping us, but we wonder if He truly cares about our specific situation. The disciples had witnessed Jesus perform miracles, yet in their moment of desperation, they doubted His personal concern for them. How often do we do the same? We know God is all-powerful, but when life gets overwhelming, we find ourselves asking, “Do You really care about what I’m going through?” The beautiful truth is that Jesus’ response showed both His power and His care. He didn’t rebuke them for waking Him; He acted immediately to address their need. Your storms matter to Him because you matter to Him.

Bible Verse

‘Though the fig tree does not bud and there are no grapes on the vines, though the olive crop fails and the fields produce no food, though there are no sheep in the pen and no cattle in the stalls, yet I will rejoice in the Lord, I will be joyful in God my Savior.’ – Habakkuk 3:17-18

Reflection Question

In your current struggles, are you more concerned about God’s power to help or His willingness to care about your situation?

Quote

They did not ask Jesus did he have the power to do anything? They said, do you care?

Prayer

Father, when doubt creeps in, remind me that You not only have the power to help but that You deeply care about every detail of my life.
