Devotional
When Mary told the servants to do whatever Jesus said, she demonstrated something profound: she trusted not just His ability but His character. She had spent thirty years watching Jesus grow in wisdom and favor, observing His heart toward people. This wasn’t just faith in His power to perform miracles—it was faith in His compassion to care about a family’s embarrassment at their wedding. Mary understood that Jesus’ heart was as reliable as His power. Too often, we focus on what God can do while questioning whether He will do it for us. But Mary’s example teaches us to trust God’s character as much as His capability. His heart toward us is good, even when His answer isn’t what we expected.
Bible Verse
‘His mother said to the servants, “Do whatever he tells you.”‘ – John 2:5
Reflection Question
Do you trust God’s heart toward you as much as you believe in His power, and how does this affect the way you approach Him with your needs?
Quote
While she believed in his power, more so she believed in his heart. She believed in the character of his heart.
Prayer
Father, help me trust not only in Your power but in Your loving heart toward me. When I don’t understand Your ways, remind me of Your good character.
