Devotional

Most of us know what it feels like to give everything we have and still be asked for more. The disciples had preached, healed, cast out demons, and helped feed thousands of people. By the time Jesus told them to get in the boat, they were already exhausted. And yet, the journey was not over. Tiredness is not just a physical problem. When we are worn down, our patience thins, our perspective narrows, and our ability to recognize God at work begins to fade. Fatigue has a way of making everything feel heavier than it actually is. Here is the encouraging truth: Jesus knew exactly how tired His disciples were when He sent them out on that water. He was not surprised by their exhaustion, and He is not surprised by yours. He sees you in the middle of your long day, your long season, and your long struggle. He has not forgotten where you are. If you are running on empty right now, you are in good company. Some of the most faithful people in Scripture hit that wall. What matters is not that you feel strong. What matters is that you keep going, trusting that the One who sent you into this season has not abandoned you in it.

Bible Verse

“Immediately Jesus made His disciples get into the boat and go on ahead of Him to Bethsaida, while He dismissed the crowd.” – Mark 6:45

Reflection Question

In what area of your life are you currently running on empty, and have you been honest with God about how tired you really are?

Quote

“When you are tired, it is hard to be the person of Christ you’re supposed to be.”

Prayer

Lord, You see my exhaustion even when I try to push through it alone. Give me the grace to be honest with You about where I am, and remind me that You are with me in every depleted moment. Amen.
