Devotional

Jesus was walking past them. That detail in Mark 6 is easy to overlook, but it is deeply significant. He would have kept going. But they cried out, and everything changed. His direction shifted. He came to them. He spoke peace over them. And the wind stopped. There is something powerful about that picture. God is not indifferent to your struggle. He is not waiting for you to have it all together before He responds. He is listening for your cry. And when it comes, it gets His attention every single time. Crying out to God is not a sign of weakness. It is an act of faith. It is an acknowledgment that you cannot do this on your own and that you believe He is able to help. That kind of honesty moves Him. You do not need the perfect prayer or the right words. The disciples cried out in fear, and Jesus still came. He is not grading your theology in your hardest moments. He is responding to your heart. So if you are in the middle of a struggle today, cry out. Do not stay silent. Do not try to row harder on your own. Let Him hear your voice, because He is already listening.

Bible Verse

“When they saw him walking on the lake, they thought he was a ghost. They cried out, because they all saw him and were terrified.” – Mark 6:49-50

Reflection Question

Is there a struggle you have been trying to handle on your own instead of crying out to God, and what is holding you back from bringing it to Him?

Quote

“He would have kept going, but they cried out. Let me tell you about Jesus. He knows your cry, and he can hear it. And your cry will always get his attention.”

Prayer

Father, I bring my struggle to You right now. I trust that You hear me and that You are already moving on my behalf. Give me the courage to cry out instead of trying to carry this alone. Amen.
