Devotional

Think about the last time you achieved something you had been chasing for a long time. A promotion. A relationship. A financial goal. There may have been a moment of satisfaction, but if you are honest, it probably did not last as long as you expected. We are a restless people. And that restlessness is not something to be ashamed of. It is actually a signal. It is pointing you toward the One your soul was made for. When Jesus fed five thousand people on a hillside, He was doing more than solving a dinner problem. He was making a declaration. He was saying that He has exactly what every hungry heart is truly looking for. Not just food for the body, but bread for the soul. Jesus called Himself the Bread of Life. He was not being poetic. He was being precise. Just as your body cannot survive without food, your soul cannot thrive without Him. Every other thing you chase will leave you wanting more. He is the only One who truly satisfies. If you feel that ache today, that sense that something is still missing even when life looks good on the outside, let it lead you to Jesus. He is not far from you. He is right here, offering you exactly what you have been searching for all along.

Bible Verse

“And Jesus said unto them, I am the bread of life: he that cometh to me shall never hunger; and He that believeth on me shall never thirst.” – John 6:35

Reflection Question

What are you currently chasing in hopes that it will finally satisfy you, and what would it look like to bring that hunger to Jesus instead?

Quote

“You can chase jobs, you can chase promotions. You could chase financial achievement, stability. You can chase relationships. And very honestly, I hope you have an abundantly blessed life. But let me just tell you right now, none of those things are ever going to satisfy you.”

Prayer

Jesus, You are the only One who can truly satisfy my soul. Help me to stop chasing things that leave me empty and to find my fullness in You. Amen.
