Devotional
There is something deeply personal about the way God relates to His people. He is not a distant force managing the universe from a safe distance. He is a shepherd who knows His sheep by name. Elisha’s servant woke up one morning surrounded by an enemy army and panicked. He could only see the threat in front of him. But Elisha prayed, and God opened the servant’s eyes to see what had been there all along: chariots of fire surrounding them on every side. The danger was real. But so was the protection. God met Elijah not in the earthquake or the fire, but in a still, small voice. He met John on a lonely island in exile and gave him the entire Book of Revelation. He meets people in their specific moment of need, in the way they need it most. He will meet you too. You do not need a formal prayer or perfect words. You just need to reach out. He knows your voice. He knows what you are carrying right now. And He is not waiting for you to clean yourself up before He responds. He runs toward you with joy, comfort, and peace the moment you call.
Bible Verse
“Will the Lord cast off for ever? and will he be favourable no more? Is his mercy clean gone for ever? doth his promise fail for evermore?” – Psalm 77:7-8
Reflection Question
When was the last time you truly cried out to God in an honest, unfiltered way, and what held you back from doing it sooner?
Quote
“The Lord that we’re talking about here knows your voice. He knows what is going on in your life. He knows what you brought into this house this morning.” -Dr. Tom Madden
Prayer
Lord, thank You for knowing my name and my voice. Help me to trust that You are already near, even before I call out to You. Amen.
