Devotional
There is a word in the greatest commandment that is easy to read past. That word is all. Love God with all your heart, all your mind, all your soul, all your strength. Not most. Not a significant portion. All. That kind of love leaves no room for rivals. It does not mean you stop caring about other things. It means nothing else gets to sit on the throne of your heart. Your career, your comfort, your relationships, your reputation. All of those things are good, but none of them are God.
This is not meant to feel like a burden. It is actually an invitation into freedom. When God holds the highest place in your life, everything else finds its proper place too. The chaos that comes from divided loyalties begins to settle. You stop trying to serve two masters and start experiencing the peace that comes from serving One. You were designed for this kind of wholehearted devotion. Not because God needs your worship, but because you were made to thrive when He is first. Think of it like a compass finding true north. When your heart is oriented toward God above all else, everything else starts to make more sense.
This week, pay attention to what competes for the top spot in your heart. You might be surprised what you find there.
