Devotional
One of the most beautiful transformations that occurs through suffering is how it equips us to minister to others in ways we never could before. The comfort we receive from God during our trials isn’t meant to end with us – it’s meant to flow through us to others who are walking similar paths. When you’ve walked through the valley of depression, you can sit with someone in their darkness with authentic understanding. When you’ve faced financial ruin, you can offer hope to someone losing everything with genuine empathy. When you’ve grieved a loss, you can comfort the brokenhearted with more than just words – you can offer the presence of someone who truly knows. This doesn’t mean we should be grateful for our pain, but it does mean we can find purpose in it. God wastes nothing. Every tear you’ve cried, every sleepless night you’ve endured, every moment you’ve felt like giving up – God can use all of it to bring healing to someone else’s life. Suffering creates bridges between people that prosperity never could. It breaks down walls of pretense and creates authentic connections. When someone is hurting, they don’t need advice from someone who’s never struggled – they need hope from someone who has walked through fire and emerged with their faith intact. Your story of God’s faithfulness in your darkest hour may be exactly what someone else needs to hear today.

Bible Verse
“Brothers and sisters, we do not want you to be uninformed about those who sleep in death, so that you do not grieve like the rest of mankind, who have no hope.” – 1 Thessalonians 4:13

God, help me to see how You can use my struggles to bring comfort to others. Give me wisdom to know when and how to share my story, and use my experiences to build bridges of hope with those who are hurting. Amen.
