Devotional

The Samaritan woman looked at Jesus and saw someone who needed help – a man without a bucket trying to draw from a deep well. She couldn’t understand how He could possibly give her living water when He seemed to lack the basic tools for the job. But here’s what she missed: Jesus didn’t need to dig down into the well because He IS the well. He is the source, the supply, the very fountain of life itself. We often make the same mistake in our spiritual lives. We look at our problems and think God needs certain conditions to be met before He can help us. We think He needs the right circumstances, the right people, or the right resources. But God is not dependent on external conditions. He spoke the universe into existence from nothing. He doesn’t need our wells; He is the eternal spring that never runs dry. When we grasp this truth, it transforms how we approach every challenge. Instead of focusing on what’s missing or what seems impossible, we can focus on the One who is the source of all possibility.

Bible Verse

‘Jesus answered her, “If you knew the gift of God and who it is that asks you for a drink, you would have asked him and he would have given you living water.”‘ – John 4:10

Reflection Question

In what area of your life are you looking for external solutions when you should be looking to Jesus as your source?

Quote

He doesn’t have to dig down in the well. He is the well. He is the source. He is the supply.

Prayer

Jesus, forgive me for limiting You by my understanding of what’s possible. Help me remember that You are not bound by my circumstances – You are the source of every solution I need.
