Devotional

We tend to cry out to God when things are falling apart. When the boat is sinking, we pray. When the diagnosis comes, we pray. When the relationship collapses, we pray. And in those moments, we discover that He is Lord of the storm. But what about the ordinary, grinding struggle? The season that is not a crisis but is just hard? The wind that is not sinking you but is wearing you out? Jesus stepped into the boat and said, “Take courage. It is I. Do not be afraid.” He did not just calm the storm. He calmed the struggle. He showed up in the middle of the straining and the striving and the painful headway, and He brought peace. He is not only Lord when things are catastrophic. He is Lord of the everyday struggle too. The tension at work, the strain in your marriage, the weight of parenting, the loneliness that does not have a dramatic name but is very real. He is present in all of it. You do not have to be in a crisis to need Jesus. You just have to be honest that the wind is against you. Invite Him into the boat today, not just when you are sinking, but right now, in the middle of the struggle.

Bible Verse

“Immediately he spoke to them and said, ‘Take courage! It is I. Don’t be afraid.’” – Mark 6:50

Reflection Question

Are you only turning to God in crisis moments, or are you inviting Him into the everyday struggles that quietly wear you down?

Prayer

Lord, I invite You into the ordinary struggles of my life, not just the emergencies. Be Lord over every hard moment, every straining day, and every wind that pushes against me. Amen.
