Devotional
“Is anything too wonderful for the Lord?” This question, posed to Sarah in her moment of doubt, echoes through the centuries to us today. It invites us to reconsider how we view our challenges and limitations. When we face difficult situations, our natural response is often discouragement, anxiety, or even despair. We see the impossibility from our human perspective. But God invites us to see these same situations through His eyes—not as insurmountable problems but as opportunities for Him to display His wonder-working power. The word translated as “too hard” or “too difficult” in Genesis 18:14 can also be translated as “too wonderful.” This suggests that our challenges aren’t just problems to be solved but opportunities for God to do something so amazing that it fills us with wonder and awe. The cross stands as the ultimate demonstration of God’s wonderful work. When our relationship with Him seemed irreparably broken by sin, He provided reconciliation through Christ’s sacrifice. If God could accomplish this greatest of wonders, can we not trust Him with the challenges we face today? Whatever weighs on your heart, remember: there is nothing too wonderful for God.

Bible Verse

“After this, the word of the LORD came to Abram in a vision: ‘Do not be afraid, Abram. I am your shield, your very great reward.'” – Genesis 15:1

Reflection Question

How might your current challenges look different if you viewed them as opportunities for God to do something wonderful rather than just difficult problems to overcome?

Quote I cry when I think about, oh, this is hard. But I laugh when I think this is wonderful. My God can do wonderful things. There’s nothing too wonderful for him to do.

Prayer

Wonderful God, thank You that nothing is too difficult for You. Help me to see my challenges through Your eyes—as opportunities for Your wonder-working power. When I’m tempted to doubt, remind me of how You’ve worked wonders in the past, especially through the cross. I trust You with what seems impossible to me. Amen.
