Devotional
We live in a world that is constantly selling satisfaction. A better job. A bigger platform. A stronger reputation. More followers, more achievements, more experiences. The promise is always the same: get enough of this, and you will finally feel whole. But you already know how that story ends. You have chased some version of it yourself. And at the end of the chase, there is still something missing. The restlessness you feel is not a flaw. It is a signal. It is pointing you somewhere. And that somewhere is not another accomplishment or a cleaner version of yourself. It is a Person. Jesus is not one option among many for dealing with the emptiness inside. He is the only answer to a problem that runs deeper than any human solution can reach. No external achievement and no religious performance can touch the defilement that lives within the human heart. Only He can. This is the gospel in its simplest form: He bore our sins so that we can live in His righteousness. Not someday. Now. Today. You are invited, right now, to stop looking everywhere else and simply come to Him. Bring the exhaustion. Bring the shame. Bring the striving. He is not waiting for you to clean up first. He is just waiting for you.
Bible Verse
“There is nothing outside a person that by going into him can defile him, but the things that come out of a person are what defile him.” – Mark 7:15
Reflection Question
What are you currently looking to, outside of Christ, to bring you the satisfaction and sense of acceptance that only He can give?
Quote
“There is no cleansing and there is no satisfaction anywhere but in God. Do not look in the world and do not look within the church as an organization. Your only hope of satisfaction is in Him.”
Prayer
Lord, I am tired of looking everywhere else. You are my only hope for true cleansing and lasting peace. I come to You just as I am. Amen.
