Devotional

There are no crumbs from a whole loaf. The crumbs only come after the bread is broken. Two thousand years ago, the Bread of Life was carried up a hill called Calvary. He was broken. And since that day, every person who has come to His table has found that the crumbs from that breaking have been more than enough. Enough for healing. Enough for forgiveness. Enough for hope in the darkest seasons. Enough for you. This is what the story of this desperate mother was always pointing toward. She caught a glimpse of something the disciples were still learning: that the grace of God is not rationed. It does not run out. It is not reserved for the most deserving or the most put-together. It falls freely, and it is sufficient for every need. You are not too broken to come to His table. You are not too far gone, too messy, or too late. The bread has already been broken for you. The crumbs are already there. All that is left is for you to come, hold out your hands, and receive what He has already made available. He is more than enough. He always has been.

Bible Verse

“But Peter, standing with the eleven, lifted up his voice and addressed them: ‘Men of Judea and all who dwell in Jerusalem, let this be known to you, and give ear to my words.'” – Acts 2:14

Reflection Question

How does knowing that Jesus was broken so that you could be made whole change the way you approach Him with your needs today?

Quote

“I know that 2,000 years ago, the bread of life was carried up a hill called Calvary, where he was broken for you and he was broken for me. And since that day, we’ve been feasting on the crumbs at the master’s table. And those crumbs have been sufficient for all of our needs.”

Prayer

Jesus, thank You for being broken so that I could be whole. Help me never take lightly what You gave so freely, and help me live in the fullness of what Your table offers. Amen.
