Devotional
Have you ever witnessed a moment so beautiful it took your breath away? At Jesus’ baptism, heaven opened and revealed something extraordinary – the complete Trinity working together in perfect harmony. For the first time since creation, we see the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit united in one magnificent moment. Jesus stands in the water, the Father’s voice thunders approval from heaven, and the Holy Spirit descends like a gentle dove. This isn’t just a religious ceremony; it’s a window into the very heart of God’s nature. Our God exists as three persons in one divine being, living in what we might call an eternal dance of love and mutual glorification. Each person of the Trinity continually honors and exalts the others in perfect rhythm. The Father delights in the Son, the Son glorifies the Father, and the Holy Spirit points us to Christ while glorifying Jesus. This divine dance has been happening since before time began, and it reveals something beautiful about who God is at His core. He doesn’t need us to complete Him or make Him happy – He already exists in perfect joy, fellowship, and contentment within Himself. Understanding this changes everything about how we view our relationship with God and our purpose in life.

Bible Verse

‘In those days Jesus came from Nazareth of Galilee and was baptized by John in the Jordan. And when he came up out of the water, immediately he saw the heavens being torn open and the Spirit descending on him like a dove. And a voice came from heaven, “You are my beloved Son; with you I am well pleased.”‘ – Mark 1:9-11

Reflection Question

How does knowing that God exists in perfect joy and fellowship within Himself change your understanding of why He created you?

Prayer

Father, thank You for revealing Yourself to us through the Trinity. Help me to understand that You don’t need me to complete You, but You invite me into Your eternal dance of love. Open my eyes to see the beauty of Your perfect relationship within Yourself. Amen.
