Devotional
Sarah laughed when she overheard the promise that she would bear a son within a year. Her laughter wasn’t just about biological impossibility—it reflected deeper doubts about whether her relationship with Abraham could be restored after years of strain and disappointment. Her silent laughter prompted one of the most powerful questions in Scripture: “Is anything too wonderful for the Lord?” This question invites us to shift our perspective. Instead of seeing our challenges merely as difficult obstacles, we can view them as opportunities for God to display His wonder-working power. What situation in your life seems impossible right now? A relationship that appears beyond repair? A financial mountain that looks insurmountable? A health diagnosis that offers little hope? A dream that seems forever out of reach? The God who promised a child to elderly Abraham and Sarah is the same God who stands ready to work in your impossible situation today. He specializes in doing what human effort cannot accomplish. When we reach the end of our resources, we’ve just reached the starting point of His.

Bible Verse

“The LORD said to Abraham, ‘Why did Sarah laugh and say, “Will I really have a child, now that I am old?” Is anything too hard for the LORD? I will return to you at the appointed time next year, and Sarah will have a son.'” – Genesis 18:13-14

Reflection Question

What situation in your life have you labeled as “impossible” that you need to reframe as an opportunity for God to do something wonderful?

Quote Is there anything too wonderful for God to do? And all of a sudden the situation before me is not hard. It’s the opportunity for wonderful. It’s the opportunity for God to do something that I can only describe as wonderful.

Prayer

Lord, forgive me for limiting what You can do in my life. I bring before You the situations that seem impossible to me, knowing that nothing is too wonderful for You. Help me to trust Your power rather than focusing on my limitations. Amen.
