Devotional

Of all the stones in Scripture, none is more significant than the one that sealed Jesus’ tomb. This massive rock was meant to be the final barrier, the ultimate period at the end of the story. Death had won, hope was buried, and the stone stood as a monument to defeat. But on that third morning, everything changed. The stone wasn’t rolled away to let Jesus out – He had already conquered death. It was moved to let witnesses in, to see that the tomb was empty and that death could not hold the Son of God. This stone became the greatest memorial of all – a testimony that God’s power is greater than our greatest enemy. For all eternity, this rock will tell the story of the God who would not let us go, even when death tried to separate us from Him. Just as God was faithful to roll away that stone, He’s faithful to roll away the obstacles in your life that seem permanent and immovable. The same resurrection power that conquered death is available to you today. Whatever ‘stone’ is blocking your path, remember – it couldn’t hold Jesus, and it can’t ultimately hold you back either.

Bible Verse

‘Do not be afraid, for I know that you are looking for Jesus, who was crucified. He is not here; he has risen, just as he said.’ – Matthew 28:5-6

Reflection Question

What ‘stone’ in your life seems immovable, but needs the same resurrection power that rolled away Jesus’ tomb stone?

Quote

For all of eternity, there’s going to be a rock that’ll talk to us and tell us our story of the God who would not let us go.

Prayer

Lord Jesus, thank You for conquering death and proving that no obstacle is too great for Your power. Help me trust in Your resurrection strength to move the immovable stones in my life.
