Devotional
There’s something powerful about understanding that today is all we truly have. Not yesterday, which is gone forever. Not tomorrow, which may never come. Just today. Just this moment. Just now. This realization should fill us with holy urgency – not anxiety, but purposeful action. We often live as if we have unlimited time to serve God, love our families, and make a difference in the world. We postpone important conversations, delay acts of kindness, and put off spiritual growth, thinking we’ll have plenty of opportunities later. But the truth is, whatever we’re going to do for God, we need to do it now. Whatever we’re going to accomplish for Him, we need to accomplish it now. This urgency isn’t meant to stress us out but to wake us up. It’s meant to help us see the person right in front of us who needs encouragement. It’s meant to motivate us to have that difficult but necessary conversation today. It’s meant to inspire us to take that step of faith we’ve been postponing. The Lord has made this day specifically for you. He’s placed opportunities, relationships, and moments of grace throughout these 86,400 seconds. Don’t let them pass by unnoticed. Live with the beautiful urgency of someone who knows that this moment matters, this day counts, and this life is a gift to be fully lived for God’s glory.

Bible Verse

‘As long as it is day, we must do the works of him who sent me. Night is coming, when no one can work.’ – John 9:4

Reflection Question

If you knew this was your last day to serve God and love others, what would you do differently with your remaining hours?

Quote “This is the day the Lord has made. Live in the urgency of today. Live in the urgency of the moment now.”

Prayer

Lord, fill me with holy urgency to live fully for You today. Help me see the opportunities You’ve placed before me and give me courage to act on them now. Don’t let me waste another moment when I could be serving You and loving others. Amen.
