Devotional
We live in a world obsessed with the artificial – from AI-generated content to filtered social media posts. Everything seems designed to present a version of reality that’s polished, perfected, and ultimately fake. Yet in the midst of this artificial culture, something beautiful is happening: people are desperately craving authenticity. The church has an incredible opportunity right now. The world isn’t looking for us to have the biggest buildings or the most impressive programs. They’re looking for something far more precious and rare – genuine people living genuine lives that reflect the genuine character of Jesus Christ. When we live authentically as followers of Christ, something powerful happens. People notice. They see something different in how we handle conflict, how we treat our families, how we respond to pressure at work. They witness a life that isn’t perfect but is real, transformed, and genuinely reflecting Christ’s love. This authenticity can’t be manufactured or programmed like artificial intelligence. It flows from a heart that has been genuinely touched by God’s grace. When the world encounters this kind of authentic Christianity, they step back in awe – not because we’re perfect, but because we’re real. The question isn’t whether the world needs authentic Christians. They desperately do. The question is whether we’re willing to be the authentic church they’re searching for.

Bible Verse
“If you have heard about Jesus and have learned the truth that comes from him, then throw off your old sinful nature and your former way of life, which is corrupted by lust and deception. Instead, let the Spirit renew your thoughts and attitudes. Put on your new nature, created to be like God—truly righteous and holy.” – Ephesians 4:21-24

Reflection Question
In what areas of your life are you tempted to present an artificial version of yourself rather than allowing others to see your authentic journey with Christ?

Quote
“Our world needs and craves and is in search of an authentic church. A church where people are living the authentic life of Jesus Christ every day.” -Pastor Jerry Madden

Prayer
Lord, help me to be authentic in a world that celebrates the artificial. Give me the courage to live genuinely for You, knowing that the world is watching and desperately needs to see Your real love through real people. Amen.
