Devotional
Relationships come with responsibilities. Every meaningful connection in our lives involves commitments and claims on our time, energy, and resources. Our relationship with God is no different – it’s a covenant relationship that involves both privileges and responsibilities. When we understand this dynamic, keeping God’s commandments becomes an expression of love rather than a burden. It’s not about earning His favor, but about responding to His grace and maintaining the intimacy He desires to have with us.
Bible Verse
“If you love me, keep my commands.” – John 14:15
Reflection Question
How does understanding your relationship with God as a covenant partnership change how you view His commands?
Quote: The story of the Ten Commandments is God saying, “This is who I am, and this is who you are. But this is how we can walk together in covenant relationship.”
Prayer
Father, thank You for inviting me into a covenant relationship with You. Help me to respond to Your love with joyful obedience. May my life reflect the reality of our partnership. Amen.
