Devotional
There is a difference between being smart and being wise. You can ace every test, memorize every verse, and still have no idea how to actually live out what you know. Wisdom is not about how much you know. It is about what you do with what you know. Here is the thing about wisdom: it starts in a place most of us resist. It starts with humility. It starts with the honest admission that we do not have it all figured out and that we genuinely need God. That is not weakness. That is actually the beginning of something powerful. The wisest people you will ever meet are not the ones with the most degrees or the longest list of accomplishments. They are the ones who wake up every day and say, “I need Jesus. I cannot do this on my own.” That posture, that openness, is what keeps us growing. Wisdom also means staying teachable. No matter how long you have been following God, there is always more He wants to show you. The moment we think we have arrived is usually the moment we stop growing. If you feel like you are still figuring things out, that is okay. That is actually a good sign. Stay curious. Stay humble. Stay open to what God is still shaping in you.
Bible Verse
“The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, and knowledge of the Holy One is understanding.” – Proverbs 9:10
Reflection Question
Is there an area of your life where you have been relying on your own understanding instead of genuinely asking God for wisdom?
Quote
“Knowledge tells you what’s true. Wisdom tells you what to do with the truth.”
Prayer
Lord, I admit I do not have it all figured out. Give me the humility to stay teachable and the wisdom to trust You with what I cannot see. Amen.
